Dark Matter The album Signify starts off with Bornlivedie a interesting track that has many samples and low rumbly tones thoughout. Signify is a instrutmental with a common theme witht the guitars and the synth, this piece makes you feel as if you withright in the same room of Porcupine Tree playing the song. The next song Sleep of No Dreaming is a song that features Steven Wilson telephone vocals and also has many backround instrutments that beef up the sound of the piece. Pagan is a nice relaxing, out their instrutmental with many ambient aspects, with heavy use of panning and strings. Waiting Phase 1 is a very relaxed song that seems very personal and sad. Waiting Phase 2 is a out there compostion, with many Acid Rock aspects. The bass, synth and piano, just flow in the song. Sever is strange in a sense, but has one the best chorus's on the album that has a use of a sweeper phaser in the vocals. The sample in the song is strange with the last line being "That's the only way you're survive is on your knees". Idiot Prayer is an instrumental, that has many samples as well and has a very driving bass in it, with ambient guitars, flutes and synths. Every Home is Wired is one of my favorite tracks from this band, there is heavy use of multitracking vocals and heavy use of delay. The second part of this song is very ambient with a lot backround noise thoughout, the synth and drums play a huge part in this second part. Intermediate Jesus is a very haunting track with a preacher (sample) thoughout the song that relates to religon. "Light Mass Prayers" is the best instrumental on the album if you have a sub-or transducer's the low drums in the song will make you feel as if you were in a storm. Drak Matter is starts rather ambient into the drums comes then it starts to form into a song, the bass, organs and drums leads the song. The vocals in the song are spot on and lyrics are wonderful. "This has become a full time career To die young would take only 21 years Gun down a school or blow up a car The media circus will make you a star" I would purchase this album agagin if it was broken or stolen. I give it an overall rating of 4.8 out of 5.
