Block A album made in the time Groove Metal was a new-ish and developing genre. Machine Head made this record with groovy/catchy riffs, powerful vocals, raw distortion, hard-pounding drumming, and with some catchy basslines. Pretty much the forumula many Groove bands (example Pantera) used. The lyrics are based on what kind-of society the band lived in. So, don't think they will be all happy and cheerful. No, Robb Flynn's lyrics on BME are filled with anger and aggression. All of the songs are awesome in their own way, but some the what makes this album shine are Davidian, Old, Block, I'm Your God Now, Blood for Blood, A Thousand Lies, etc. This album is almost near perefection Groove Metal album, to be honest. For this album, I'd recommend it to fans of the Goove Metal genre, even Thrash fans might like it! Great start-out if you are just getting into this band. It's just sad to see they didn't put out anything that could match up this until 10 years later with Through the Ashes of Empires. At least they started to get back on the right path now then never. PS: If you don't own this album yet, good news. Roadrunner is re-releasing Burn My Eyes with a bonus CD, which includes previously unreleased tracks and rarities. It is due out on January the 8th, 2007. 4/5 By: Morbid_Tony |

Don't worry, you'll get them. One week I fucked up and forgot to add them, so one day when I have time I'm gonna sit down and go through all the articles and draw up a master list. |
