The Dimarzio Tone Zone is one of the best sounding pickups I've ever played. It's a nice high-powered bridge humbucker with a great amount of bass and mids. It's got a nice searing smooth lead sound perfect for a great lead tone. Frankly, it's an all-around great pickup, great for anything from Blues to Metal and even Punk. It's the only pickup I use and I get great Pink Floyd, Tool, and even Pantera sounds from it. As with all gear, it's never perfect. I really haven't gotten a good Heavy Metal sound out of it. It can do stuff like Metallica and Black Label Society fine, but it really doesn't have the output for anything like Vader or Necrophagist. Other than that, there's no problems with the pickup. Besides, If you're playing that kind of thing you may want to be looking at active pickups. You may have a great sound from your setup, but you may feel that it needs another kick-up and it'll sound perfect. I'd say that you should get a pickup change and the Dimarzio Tone Zone would be perfect to get the best out of your gear. As I said before it's got a really great sound that'll fit anything. You can always go out and get some custom Bareknuckles, but if you don't feel like spending over $100, then the Tone Zone is the perfect pickup for the medium price range. 4/5 Stars

God, I can't believe I forgot to put that. I fixed it, though. |
