Why Go 5. Black 6. Jeremy 7. Oceans 8. Porch 9. Garden 10. Deep 11. Release This is probably the most well-rounded of Pearl Jam's CDs (and their first); it has soft, hard, and everything in between. There's not a song that I skip over when I listen to it, and my favorite changes from week to week. Features some of the most popular of the Pearl Jam songs, I think every song was single-worthy. Contains some of Eddie's best work vocally and all musical aspects are top-notch. If you're a guitar player looking for definite riffs, this is not the album for you; it contains great chord progressions, but in true grunge style, no clear cut riffing. The 2 (and sometimes 3) guitars blend perfectly. Just about every song sounds good played on both electric and acoustic (see unplugged performance). Packaging is pretty cool: sleeve unfolds into a poster. Includes copies of Eddie's handwritten lyrics. Highly suggested for introduction to both Pearl Jam and grunge. Rating: 5/5
