how can it FEEL this WRONG??

Though I've listened to more albums from 2009 than any other year, I've found it to be the most disappointing year thus far, with only 4 albums deserving of my "four star rating" or above. 2010 will be much better, I believe, as it will contain many new albums from bands I am very fond of. Here is a short list of bands I know of that are releasing things! of Montreal - False Priest (no idea when this will finally come out!) Architecture in Helsinki - Vision Revision (this was supposed to come out last year and it isn't even done yet) Vampire Weekend - Contra (this might not be very good from the songs already out) Gorillaz - Plastic Beach Final Fantasy/Owen Pallet - Heartland Spoon - Transference She & Him - Volume Two MGMT - Congratulations The Magnetic Fields - Realism Massive Attack - Heligoland Smashing Pumpkins - (more of) Tear Garden by Kaleidoscope New albums without names yet from: LCD Soundsystem !!! Interpol (Paul Banks said that it will be better than the last one!) The Strokes (I thought this last year too but they're apparently back in the studio so it's more than a rumor now! but I have low expectations regardless) blink-182 (hoping this won't be too awful) My Chemical Romance (this will be pretty awful) I'm sure I'm forgetting some, and there will be surprise albums later... This year seems exciting any which way though! Beach House's album Teen Dream already leaked back in November and I'm quite fond of it, or at least the first half of it. Much better than whatever they've done in the past (though I'm just judging that their past work was awful from the singles). |

Not much I'm excited for yet... I'm interested in the new Burzum and Gorillaz; hopefully Moonsorrow puts a new album out in 2010. And hopefully the new Wintersun will actually come out this year. Probably not. I also hear word of a new My Bloody Valentine. |

I'd shit myself if there were a new My Bloody Valentine. That'd be so fucking cool. |

Pretty excited for new BSS and She & Him. I'll give the new MCR album a listen but I too have low hopes for it. All I've heard so far is Teen Dream and Astro Coast and they were both all right. |

I've only listened to seven albums from this year so far and they've all been pretty good (all 3.5 or 4 stars). So either I'm choosing my listening more carefully or this year is a good one for music (at least compared to last...). Still looking forward to oM, Arcade Fire, (possibly) Atheist and most of all, Diamond Rings. |

The year has been pretty lacking for me. Most albums fall in the 2.5 or 3 range. I need to search out some of the (possible) gems I've been neglecting (Gorillaz, Alcest, Burzum (ok so this is probably lame), Univers Zéro, etc.). |
