Hopefully I can now give you a clearer idea of what I was babbling about in that thread, lol. The biggest change is that the website has been removed. There are few reasons for this, not the least of which being that it was kind of useless. I mean that I don't believe many people used it, and even if you did, almost all of the information that was on the site could be found on the forums anyway, making it unnecessary. All of the useful parts of the site, such as the master lists of articles, reviews, and SotM victories, have been transferred over to forum pages that are accessible by clicking the applicable link in the main menu at the top. This will be easier to manage and will eliminate hosting fees, which, for a soon-to-be poor college student, is a major plus. Going hand in hand with that change, is an alteration of the organization of the Site Contributions forum, now titled "Articles & Reviews." It's been moved to the Music category and the subforums have been alphabetized and the Reviews subforums have additionally be split up into Music and Gear and now have their ratings displayed under their topic titles. The Guidelines have been updated slightly to reflect these changes. Contributions will now be rewarded with items around the forums instead of Notes (please visit this thread to give your input to this change). In addition to the reorganization of site contributions, the forums have been rearranged. Being that we will all but cease advertising, the New Users Introduction forum has been archived (it is accessible via a link at the top of the Archives forum) and replaced with a stickied thread in The Inferno. The Archives have been moved to the bottom of the index. I believe this will make browsing the forum easier as we no longer have a bunch of barely-posted-in forums sitting at the top of the index. A more exhaustive list of changes is available in the spoiler tags below. As you can see, these changes are geared towards simplicity. In my quest to make MT bigger and better, I believe I began to overlook the fact that most of the new things I was adding and building on were not only useless, but even a inconvenience to our dedicated users. That's why, as I briefly touched on in The Future of MT thread, MT will now cater exclusively to the community we have already. I am no longer concerned with elaborate updates or activity or a steady influx of new users; as long as we're having fun, things are okay in my book. As I said, I will not have as much time to spend on MT, so when I do get on, I don't want to worry about completing the next code or advertising, all I want to do is chill out and shoot the breeze with you wonderful folks. Site Contributions reorganized and renamed "Articles & Reviews." Subforums are now sorted alphabetically; Reviews sorted in to Music and Gear and ratings are displayed beneath topic links. Guidelines updated. Forums have been rearranged: "Articles & Reviews" moved to Music category; Archives moved to bottom of index. New Users Introductions forum archived and replaced with a stickied thread in The Inferno. Blog comment notifications. I added this awhile ago but was waiting for a place to announce it. When someone comments on your blog, you get a notification. Post up some blogs to test it out. Orange emote replacement code is working in a timely manner in The Inferno and MT3.0 themes. Money system, shop, and The Emporium removed. Contributions will now be rewarded with new perks (see thread in Site Discussion). Aristocrat user group removed and will be replaced with new perks (see thread in Site Discussion). News ticker, FAQ, Member Map, MT Radio, user group legend, and Zeta Original theme removed.
