Since no one responded in the chat thread: D= Guise, I have a dilemma. I have some gift cards and stuff that I saved from Christmas and my birthday that I was going to get some quality recording equipment with so I could finally record my gigantic backlog of songs that I'm now sorting through. The problem though is that there would be no time to record. Not on my end, I have all the time in the world. But my parents are home 24/7 and obviously recording isn't the kind of thing one wants an audience for. So I'm scared that even if I did by the equipment I would still be unable to record. =/ |

You could spend extra money and soundproof your recording area. Take a few years though. I'm gonna have that same dilemma soon, so when I think of something a little more rational, I'll let ya know.

Well, my recording area is my room and since I won't be inhabiting it 3 months from now, that's not really a worthwhile investment. Keep me posted on that.

Try and trade the vouchers in at a recording studio? |

Unfortunately that's not feasible as two of them are for Amazon.

Well, my preliminary plan is to talk to my parents about it, and ask them to leave the inside of the house while I record. I also plan to make a sign saying 'RECORDING - DO NOT DISTURB'. |

Hmm...maybe I'll consider talking to my parents. It'll be difficult though, because I rarely talk to them. ![]() I imagine you'd have a harder time than me though, given that you're probably recording growls and stuff, which I think most parents would freak out about if they heard that emanating from their kids' rooms.

Yeah, but also my recording space is right under the kitchen, so if they're walking around in there, it would just ruin everything I'm doing. |
