I could give you the names of the greatest, rawest, most rawk-sawking-est hardcore and emo bands out there. No lie.

Pop-Punk, yeah, I see your point.

how can it FEEL this WRONG??
I never bothered with Brand New. I don't think I will. TBS is just one band I still managed to hold onto from my days of listening to shitty music.

Like I said, I'm sure you could, but that's no guarantee at all that I'm going to like them. XD I generally don't like full-throttle hardcore/emo.

I resent that, given that I have similar taste to him. XD

Then you're doing it wrong.

In all seriousness, though, I could give you more mellow stuff just as easily. I could definitely see you liking Hüsker Dü, Moving Targets, Minutemen, Unwound, Jeromes Dream, Gospel, Frodus, Refused, and possibly even City of Caterpillar.

Oh, you definitely need to check out mewithoutYou and ESPECIALLY Cap'n Jazz (holy shit Cap'n Jazz are fantastic).

Edit: And Sunny Day Real Estate!

Edit: Maybe NoMeansNo. Really playful yet intense hardcore punk with math rock elements and strong jazz influence. Incredible bass work.

No, the bands are doing it wrong by making music I don't like. :P

And you know throwing 20 bands at me isn't going to help. XD I like some songs by the Minutemen already, give me an album rec for them.

Get Buzz or Howl Under the Influence of Heat first. Then try the much denser Double Nickels on the Dime.

If you like the Minutemen, you're likely guaranteed to enjoy Hüsker Dü. New Day Rising is the best place to start (though Zen Arcade was the best).

I see you're still struggling with the concept of singularity. That's okay though, we'll get there someday. :P

Its just that Buzz or Howl Under the Influence of Heat is very, very short. It is more accessible, but you'd likely want another album to go with it. :haha

I'm sure just about everyone thinks their first is the best.

They're pretty much a carbon copy of pre-Devil and God Brand New, and their early stuff was awful anyway.
The reason you think its so close of a copy to brand new's cd. is because Brand new's singer used to be in taking back sunday and adam lazzara got alot of influences from him. Until taking back sunday went super gay and mainstream and lost their style of music. tell all your friends was an amazing album and where you want to be wasnt bad either but anything after that was for the money.
